How does the free trial work?
Breaky for Mac.7 days on that Mac, from the first time you open Breaky. You need no card and no account, and everything works. Reinstalling does not start the days over. When they are up, Breaky stops until a licence key goes in: it records nothing and calls no breaks. Your record stays on your Mac.
Breaky for iPhone.7 days free, counted from the day you first downloaded it. After that it opens through a paired Breaky for Mac, or through a monthly subscription in the App Store.
What does one licence key cover?
One key, bought once, works on up to 3 Macs you own or control, and every 1.x update is included. An iPhone you pair with one of those Macs opens through it too.
Type the key on the Mac under Your licence. Once it has been accepted, Breaky keeps working without the internet, and checks the key with Polar at most once a day when it can.
Reinstalling macOS, or deleting Breaky’s own folder, makes a Mac look new and uses a slot. If all 3 are taken, free one on the Mac you no longer use: Your licence → Details → Remove this Mac.

How do I move to a new Mac?
On the old Mac, open Your licence and press Save a copy under Backup. Put the file somewhere the new Mac can reach.
On the same screen, open Details and press Remove this Mac, then press it again to confirm. The slot goes back to your key, and the record stays on the old Mac.
On the new Mac, open Breaky, go to Your licence and type your key.
Press Restore from a copy under Backup and pick the file. Days the new Mac already has are left as they are.

How do I pair my iPhone with my Mac?
Keep the iPhone near the Mac, with Bluetooth on for both.
On the Mac, open Breaky’s Settings and press Pair an iPhone.
On the iPhone, open Breaky and tap Pair my Mac in Settings. Allow Bluetooth when iPhone asks, then choose your Mac.
Type the 6 digits the Mac shows, then tap Pair. A code lasts 90 seconds.
When the iPhone says the number matched, press Yes on the Mac.
One iPhone per Mac, and up to 4 Macs per iPhone. Out of range is not unpaired: the two find each other again by themselves.
How do I manage or cancel the iPhone subscription?
Apple runs the subscription. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, then Breaky. There you can cancel it or see when it renews. In Breaky, Manage subscription on the Breaky tab opens Apple’s own page for it.
Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription. On a new iPhone, Restore purchases on the Breaky tab finds it again for the same Apple ID.
If your Mac has a Breaky licence, your iPhone does not need the subscription while the two are paired.
Can I get a refund?
Breaky for Mac. Polar sold you the key, so refunds are theirs, under the refund window shown on the purchase page when you bought. Ask them, and they will ask us if they need to. Not sure how to reach them? Write to us.
Breaky for iPhone. Apple bills the subscription, so refunds go through Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com.
